Pro Bono Lunch and Learn Program on Jan 16
January 16, 2020 @ 11:45 am – 1:15 pm
Civil Legal Help for Sexual Assault Survivors:
A training for the VRLC pro bono program
Please join the Victim Rights Law Center for a lunchtime presentation about volunteering with its pro bono program. The VRLC is the only nonprofit organization in Oregon dedicated to providing free legal representation to sexual assault survivors. During this fast-paced, thought-provoking workshop, you’ll learn about the devastating impact that sexual violence can have on a victim’s privacy, safety, employment, education, housing, financial stability, and immigration status; how the VRLC works with survivors to address those issues; and what you can do to help.
Who should attend? This program is for any attorney who wants to improve sexual assault survivors’ access to justice. We ask that attendees commit to taking on at least one pro bono legal matter or research project (each of which typically takes about 5-15 hours) within the next six months.
Please feel free to reach out to Margaret Davis at mdavis@victimrights.org or (503) 446-5477 x7 for more information.
Complimentary lunch and CLE credit will be available.
RSVP: Space is limited – please sign up here on or before Tuesday, January 14, 2020.
